The Domain Northside

The Domain is a super cool area with shops, restaurants, employers and tons of apartments.  It’s possible to have everything you need within just a mile or two if you choose this North Austin area as your home.

Located at Burnet Road and Mopac, the Domain is about to open its newest section, Domain Northside, the Austin Business Journal reports.  This new section is managed by Endeavor Real Estate Group, rather than Simon Property Group, which owns and operates the rest of the Domain.

Domain Northside is located near Whole Foods near Domain Drive and Domain Boulevard.  The center will be anchored by the second Austin location of Nordstrom and the developers are going across the country to find exclusive and trendy retailers to populate the development.   

National retailers that have signed on include Pirch, a kitchen, bath and outdoor showroom that started in San Diego, Frye, the boot and leather goods retailer, and Mitchell Gold+Bob Williams, a high-end furniture store.

Austinites will notice many local businesses as well, though, including Raven + Lily, a company which sells responsibly sourced fair trade fashion products that empower and employ women in poverty around the globe.  

Another local business in Domain Northside is Bird’s Barbershop, where you can get a haircut while enjoying a cold beer in a super trendy environment with great music.  Their goal is to make haircuts fun and treat their employees well.

Local restaurant 24 Diner is opening a Domain Northside location in addition to their current location at Sixth and Lamar.  24 Diner prides itself on taking the Diner concept and elevating it with chef-inspired comfort food, local and organic fare, a full bar and an extensive beer and wine list.

Sway, a Thai restaurant whose current location is on South First, is expanding to the Domain Northside.  Their dumplings, oysters, and brunch all get high marks from diners in the 78704.  See a full list of the new retailers at the Domain here.  

Apartments abound in and around the Domain, including Addison at Kramer Station, located less than a mile from the Domain.  Apartments range from studios with 597 square feet to three bedroom, two baths with 1,387 square feet and feature hardwood floors, kitchen islands, large closets, and washers and dryers.  The community is gorgeous and has a pet park, access to public transportation, bicycle storage, a lap pool with a tanning shelf, and detached garages available.  You can see for yourself in this video.
