Hosting a Dinner Party in a Small Space: Tips and Tricks

Hosting Dinner Parties can be tricky if you have a small apartment with no dedicated dining space.  But what to do if you still want to have friends over and serve them delicious dishes?  Apartment Therapy.com has helpful advice on throwing a dinner party in your living room.

Draft your coffee table into double-duty as a dining table, with guests sitting on the couch or floor.  Rather than crowding bottles and glasses onto a too small table, set up a drink station nearby, complete with ice and glasses so your guests can serve themselves.  Need space for extra food?  Use an ottoman with a tray or a folding table.

You can also get more food onto your table by using a serving piece with tiers, stacking cake stands, or make do by stacking glasses and plates.  If you’re concerned about guests having to eat on their laps, serve food that can be eaten with only a fork.  And finally, keep the guest list small so everyone has a place to sit.  Intimate dinners can allow for great conversation and give guests an opportunity to really get to know each other.  So there you have it, no matter the size of your Austin Texas Apartment, entertain away!
