Southwest Austin is getting new apartments.

A new apartment project is coming to Circle C in Southwest Austin, the Austin Business Journal reportsStratus Properties will build The Saint Mary in Circle C. Permitting and plans are done for the Southwest Austin apartments. Stratus plans to start construction in the next couple of months once they get financing. 240 apartments will be in the project.

Circle C

Circle C in Southwest Austin is popular because it is close to Austin. It is also popular because its schools are highly rated and it has lots of family-friendly amenities. The master-planned community continues to grow.

W Austin

Stratus is known primarily for owning the W Austin downtown. The company says that as Austin has added more hotel rooms, they have made less money from that part of their business.

Stratus is looking to make money in other ways with projects such as The Saint Mary. They also are building Lantana Place in Southwest Austin. That project is located at the corner of Southwest Parkway and William Cannon Drive.

Lantana Place

The first part of Lantana Place is almost complete. The 320,000 square foot mixed-use project will have Moviehouse & Eatery as an anchor tenant. Moviehouse & Eatery will open this month.

A Marriott A/C Hotel will be built beginning early next year at the Southwest Austin development. The project will have shops and office space also. Hotels are a new trend in mixed-use projects to give retailers more visitors. Lantana Place is expected to be popular in Southwest Austin in an affluent area that currently is underserved.
