That’s Entertainment

Central Library

Second Street is anchored by the unbelievably gorgeous new downtown library! With six floors of books, it’s a bibliophiles’ dream! The terrace garden has spectacular views of the lake and is fantastic spot to curl up with a good read. All that browsing work up an appetite? Stop by the Cookbook Bar and Cafe located IN the library! Every single scrumptious morsel on the menu came from a recipe in a cookbook so you can cook it up for yourself when you get home.

Violet Crown Cinema

Win the pool at your next Oscar party by catching the latest art house flicks BEFORE everyone’s buzzing about them! Violet Crown is Second Street’s classy cinema serving food and drinks along with films that will make you think while you’re entertained. They’ll even validate your parking for four hours! What’s not to love?

ACL Live

The Moody Theater, home to ACL Live, is one of the absolute best listening rooms in Austin! Check out their calendar and get tickets to your favorite performer. The space is so intimate, there isn’t a bad spot in the place!

Located in the incredibly posh W Hotel, Trace provides a high-end experience in both its restaurant and bar. Their menu is full of gourmet dishes featuring locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients; Trace will make your tastebuds sing! Their weekend brunch has $2 mimosas and $10 mimosa carafes, so you don’t have to go broke for luxury. Trace’s large patio is right next door to ACL live and has sofas and tables, making it the perfect spot for meeting up with friends for a drink on a nice day or before a show!

Lamberts is in the gorgeously restored historical Scheider Brothers Building. Their slow-smoked barbecue, especially the pulled pork, is juicy, tender, melt-in-your-mouth tasty! Barbecue can work up a thirst, so Lambert’s has a great selection of classic cocktails, Texas Beer and an extensive wine list to wash your meal down with. Go ahead and take a gander at their events calendar and make a plan to catch some local live music in their cozy upstairs cabaret.

La Condesa

The best time to visit La Condesa is during happy hour: 5-7pm Monday through Friday, score half-priced drinks! This gorgeous space was inspired by Mexico City and created by famed Austin architect Michael Hsu. It makes their elevated Mexican dishes like their delectable Guacamole sampler taste even better!
